This coral sweatshirt just released from Everlane is perfect for breaking in spring hues while still dressing for that lingering chill in the air. I loved the blue, but it sold out fast! The Everygirl just announced the upcoming launch of The Everymom, and if it’s anything like The Everygirl, I know it will be fabulous! Lookout for the official launch in April. I’m a huge fan of baths and fancy bath salts, but they can be pricey! I love this post on how to make affordable, drugstore bath salts more luxurious. Since it’s been 80 degrees
Feeling helpless about the recent violence in yet another school? Visit this site and see how you can ACT! On a lighter note, we were exposed to Peacock Alley bedding at the Nashville Antique Home and Garden Show and are in love. We especially love these scalloped sheets. A bit obsessed with this new (to me) Instagram account. Always love finding designers who are experts at mixing and matching in a maximal, collected way. Speaking of mixing and matching, this space feels so collected and lived in in the very best way. Loving the Modern Victorian
Most years, Adam and I would rather avoid the long restaurant lines and Valentine’s hullabaloo and, instead, spend the evening at home. That doesn’t mean it can’t be special or that it has to take that much extra work. In case you’ve waited until the last minute (like I have) to give your Valentine’s Day plans some thought, I wanted to share a favorite menu for two and some ideas on how to add a little pizazz to set it apart from your typical dinner at home. Valentine’s Menu In addition to sticking to simple recipes, another easy way to
I have said it before and will say it again. Everything Jersey Ice Cream Co. does is magic, and this renovation is no exception. Framing can make a huge difference in your artwork and this is a beautiful example of framing done right. Anyone else excited about the opening ceremony of the Olympics tonight? I am a sucker for the Olympics! In honor of the olympics, can you name all the countries who have hosted the winter olympics in this quiz? Have you seen “I, Tonya” yet? I am really curious to see the perspective the
One major renovation we are taking on this year is our upstairs bathroom. We hadn’t necessarily planned to take it on this year, but we started dreaming and scheming and one thing led to another and here we are. Before we talk plans, let’s delve into the space as it is now. It really is not terrible and we lived with it for a year and half as it certainly was not at the top of our priority list. However, it really isn’t our style and we are suckers for design and a good project. The space is tiny, with
This weekend I took a quick trip to Nashville to visit the Antique and Garden Show. While I mostly went to hear Gil Schafer and Rita Konig speak, the exhibit hall was also packed full of interesting finds and displays. I wanted to share a few photos I snapped on my phone along with some of the highlights from their talk. The Expo Most booths contained antiques, but being an antique and garden show, there were a number of garden displays too. I really loved this ginormous concrete bench. It could feel so cozy in the right backyard. So cottagey!
This photo Adam took in Iceland a few summers ago always feels so Wes Anderson to me. We made it to this lighthouse after one of my first attempts driving off road. Well worth the effort. Speaking of Iceland, I find their pool culture fascinating. Love the examples pictured in this article. I can see how this habit could help kick the winter blues. I love watching people paint. I could watch this all day. This too. Any dress lovers out there? Julia Engel of Gal Meets Glam is launching a dress collection, and I’m so excited!
Adam and I spend and inordinate amount of time admiring art online and, when possible, in person. It really does have the ability to make or break a space, and when you find a piece that speaks to you, it can bring such joy every time you glance at it. Art is a personal thing, and I find that even my own art taste evolves over time and with the seasons. It’s much moodier in winter and much brighter and more cheerful in summer. Over the years, Adam and I have improved in our ability to choose pieces that we
We recently started watching this show. While we’re really enjoying it, we are especially intrigued by the 1950s inspired interiors and costuming used. This bedroom designed by Rita Konig for her previous New York apartment literally looks like the embodiment of an English garden. In case the winter blues have you down, it’s just 43 more days and counting until we get that extra hour of evening daylight. It will be here before you know it! We have two abstracts from Michelle Armas that add so much cheer to our hallway. I really like some of her
How’s your week been? Adam and I got two unexpected snow days, and it was AMAZING. Having that extra time at home was great to plan for the year, get some projects done, and spend more time debating painting our dining room trim. We absolutely adore the work of architect Gil Schafer, and he and the designer of my favorite room from his last book are speaking in Nashville in February! I am so pumped! Are you a midcentury fan? The execution of Mandy Moore’s midcentury home by Sarah Sherman Samuel has been flawless! They’re in the final
