Our Kitchen Transformation

It’s been on my list to write this post for quite some time, but there is so much that went into our kitchen, it can be difficult to know where to start. However, today is the day we’re detailing how our kitchen was transformed from this… to this… First Impressions When we toured the house, it was evident that the kitchen left a lot to be desired. They say the kitchen is the heart of the home, and it was pretty clear this kitchen was on the verge of cardiac arrest. When looking around, our realtor broke a drawer-facing off

Happy Friday!

We are gearing up for Thanksgiving over here, and are loving this guide to hosting a perfect Friendsgiving.   Speaking of designing for Thanksgiving, Park and Oak Design nailed it!   In order to gear up for the holidays, check out Becki Owen’s eight tips for styling your kitchen.   I am obsessed with everything Old Home Love is doing with this house right now. Pssst… you can #winthishouse.   The amount of coordination and skill this takes blows my mind.   We all need safe islands. Love all of Mari’s work.   We just got all our products

Happy Friday!

Don’t forget to set your clocks back this weekend! I’m still working to mentally prepare for the extra hours of darkness in the evenings, but since it can’t be avoided, I might as well embrace it.   Simple but beautiful shirt for fall.   I’ve really been into the before and after photos Jersey Ice Cream Co have been sharing on their Instagram the past month. How awesome is the transformation of this kitchen corner and these living room details.   I’m pretty obsessed with Jersey Ice Cream Co’s lived-in, elegant aesthetic. It’s no surprise they are the masterminds behind

Happy Friday!

I love everything about this sweet post. There’s something so powerful about simple traditions. We’ve gotten together with friends nearly every Wednesday for the past 3 years for “burger night,” where we eat $5 burgers from one of our favorite restaurants and rejoice in the fact that we’ve made it halfway through the week.   Does your place of work dress up for Halloween? It can be a tricky thing to dress up while still being work appropriate. This list had some good ideas. The Superwoman costume would be extremely easy to pull together last minute.   What do you

Shopping to Go: Cozy Throws

I am an extremely cold-natured person, and I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t sit around dreaming of the cold, dark days that start setting in this time of year. However, they are unavoidable, and there are aspects of the darker, colder days that are enjoyable. One thing that makes them better is knowing that you have a nice cozy throw blanket waiting for you at home. I LOVE a good blanket, and we have some pretty intense fights over here at the Happy Tudor about who gets to curl up with our favorite throws. We’ve purchased a

Design School: Our favorite online resources

Neither Adam nor I went to design school, but we are both very passionate about design and have tried to soak up everything we can. Fortunately, today’s world makes this much easier and more accessible. There are certain things like hanging curtains the correct way or picking out a rug to the proper scale of the room that can make or break a space, but once you have them down, it makes pulling together a room a much smoother and more rewarding process. Today we’re sharing some of the online resources that have taught us the most and that we

Happy Friday!

It’s really starting to feel like fall this week! I’m not going to lie; those cold, dark mornings have made it hard to get out of bed. This has me looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow! What are your weekend plans?   Possibly the sweetest costume?   I’ve always loved these simple costumes by Keiko Lyyn. This costume could also be a great couples costume!   How beautiful are these stairs and this photo.   As if Julia Engel couldn’t look any more perfect. This shoot is magical.   Cranberry apple cider sangria. Yum.   I always love a black

Design Notes: Charleston

One of our favorite ways to really absorb a new place is to take note of all of the locale’s design sensibilities, and as I already said on my Instagram here and here, Charleston definitely has some serious style. Below are the top five design “notes” we took on our recent trip to Charleston, South Carolina. Respect for History Given that Charleston was founded in 1670, it would be easy for much of their history to have been lost over the years. However, a stroll around most any of the historic district, particularly the residential South of Broad neighborhood, will

Charleston Travel Guide

Adam and I just got back from a much needed four day trip to Charleston, SC. We visited Charleston for the first time a little over three years ago right after we got married, but honestly, we were so worn out from the wedding that it was a bit foggy. This go around we were able to squeeze in some new items on our itineraries along with a few repeats of our favorite things from the last trip. One nice thing about Charleston is that it’s an easy city to visit without too much of plan. We came with a

Happy Friday!

Amber and I just got home from a much-needed break in Charleston and hope to have our Charleston guide up early next week! While we were there, we went through this series of 36 questions just for fun. I am a sucker for these things, and it was definitely a lot of fun!   All the beautiful trim work we saw in Charleston has us dreaming and scheming of all the possibilities in our guest bathroom. I am loving this image with the select use of wallpaper in certain panels. Definitely visually striking!   Eyeing this piece by one of
