Hey there! It’s been a while. The past few months have been so busy for us, and while we didn’t intend to take such a long hiatus here on the site, it happened and we just decided to roll with it. Once we were able to let go of some of the guilt of pulling back here and in a few other areas of life for a bit, we realized how needed and enjoyable small breaks like this can be. There are those times in life when you feel like you’re being pulled in a million directions and that it’s
In love with this bedroom Mark Sikes designed for the 2018 Kips Bay Show House. Those details, though. Need this book! Have you taken the Enneagram test? I love personality tests, and while there is a more comprehensive version you can pay for, Adam and I took this abridged version recently and thought the results were pretty spot on. For the record, he’s a 1 and I’m a 2. Are you planning on watching the upcoming royal wedding? I found this slideshow of iconic royal wedding gowns over the years to be very interesting. It’s hard to
Love when guys are included in things like this. Fun botanical prints that could help nicely fill out an empty wall. Got my first GMG dresses in the mail this week, and they are lovely! This one may be my favorite! Love this light. It’s especially beautiful in this space. Strawberry season is almost here, and every year I commit to making a strawberry pie but wind up eating too many before I have enough to make them into anything more. Maybe this year is the year to try out this simple recipe. Then again, they’re
We recently styled and shot a beautiful kitchen and breakfast nook designed by local architects, Sean and Sara Martin of Open Door Architecture. The firm’s incredible work coupled with their focus on bringing new life to old homes is right up our alley, making for an exciting shoot. Did I mention that they were also the architects behind the 2017 HGTV Urban Oasis? All that said, we fell in love with the space the first time we saw it and were thrilled to style and photograph such a beautiful space. After seeing the space, I think some of you may
Today is the day! The Gal Meets Glam dress collection is finally being released. I’m so excited for it and so excited for the incredibly talented Julia! Um, yes to this potato recipe! Do you follow miniature artist Lorraine Loots? She’s amazing. How mind blowing is this kangaroo? We try to support our local farmers as much as possible, and a CSA is a great way to do that. If you’ve never heard of it or of thinking of trying one, this is a great read. For those of you in the Knoxville area, this CSA
Interesting read. “That’s all.” I feel like I keep seeing this cookbook pop up everywhere. Looks like a good one to add to a cookbook library. Affordable, compact outdoor dining set. The bistro set is nice too. I’ve really loved the chance to work outside in the yard over the past few weeks, but my eczema doesn’t seem to love it quite the same. Interested in trying this from First Aid Beauty. When I haven’t been outside, I’ve been obsessively researching examples of cottage gardens to aspire to and mostly saving them here. Also, if
I’ve mentioned before that I absolutely adore Easter decorations. There’s just something so fun and cheerful about them, and I think a big part of what makes them so appealing is that they are such a representation of spring. Don’t get me wrong, I love decorating for Christmas, but that gap between December and spring can really start to feel grey. When it’s finally time to start pulling out the cheerful hues and florals, I could not be more ready! This year, we were busy most of Easter weekend tiling our bathroom and working in the yard, but we quickly
We made it to Friday, and I’m so excited! While we have a call for freezing temps this weekend, my mood has definitely been uplifted by the transition to spring, and I can’t wait to continue to soak it up this weekend. Spring does mean tax season, though, and I really liked this breakdown on tax basics by the Skimm, which we’re big fans of. Loved this post about this cute little dish shop right here in Knoxville. I pass it all the time but have never stopped in. Adding it to the list of places to visit.
We just got some dahlia bulbs in for summer from Floret Farm, and we are pumped to plant them! Have you all seen that both Mark Sikes and Madcap Cottage are coming out with new fabric collections? A peak of Mark’s collection here and Madcap’s here. Love the use of vertical tiles in this bathroom. It feels so fresh and interesting. This before and after is my current favorite. Jealous of Alice Gao’s recent trip to India. Remember when we took a poll on whether to go with the hexagonal or basketweave tile in our
I know this is not new and that the house has already been given away, but I LOVE rewatching these episodes of Home Love Network: Win This House, especially the dinging room renovation. Anyone else love that clean feeling you have after taking a shower? I can’t help but feel that this shower would make that feeling even better. My spring break was last week and I spent any free time (which was surprisingly little) looking at Marie Flanigan’s interior design work. I couldn’t get over all the detail and her eye to create captivating and timeless spaces.
