Thank you all for your kind words and support of our banquette post. While we knew we wanted our banquette design to be simple and serene, we had so much fun pulling it together that we wanted to come up with a few other looks that could work in other spaces. Banquettes are such a great way to make a statement, play with pattern, bring in texture, and much more. Here we’re sharing three very different looks that we hope bring you some inspiration if you’re designing similar spaces.
I have such admiration for the coastal, colorful style of designers like Angie Hranowsky. We took this as a chance to play with bright colors and fun patterns, and while this isn’t the style of our home, I’d love to have breakfast in a space like this each morning. What an energizing space to start the day! I especially love the craftsmanship and lines of this table built by Vermont Farm Table, who also built our dining table.
Channeling a masculine, urban aesthetic with a Nate Berkus flair led us to this compilation. One thing to keep in mind is that creating these spaces doesn’t always have to mean built in benches. These leather benches from Restoration Hardware would also do a great job of setting off a space. To soften this look a bit, we brought in this lovely drum pendant light from Rejuvenation that would put off a warm, even light. So cozy!
I like to imagine myself drinking coffee in this space after cutting fresh flowers from my elaborate garden in the Hamptons. Sadly, I must leave that to Ina Garten, but that doesn’t stop me from designing a space that can let my imagination wander. We are absolutely in love with this light fixture! How beautiful is the shape and detail?! I’d love to find a space in our home where it could be incorporated. We always love the serenity that a blue and white motif creates, which we stuck to in the throw pillows and cushion fabric.
So there you have it! Which one are you drawn to?
